The Accelerated Option is for students who have completed a Bachelor's degree in any field and wish to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. The program takes 12 months to complete and starts once a year (August). Classes meet on the campus of Southeast Technical Institute in the Terrance Sullivan Health Science center, part of the University Center system in Sioux Falls. Students take coursework and participate in lecture, on-campus labs, and clinical rotations in Sioux Falls and surrounding communities.

Application Requirements

Before applying to the Accelerated Option, students must:

The application to the Sioux Falls Accelerated Option is available at NursingCAS on October 15th each year. The application deadline for admission for the following Fall (August) is January 25. We have, however, re-opened on NursingCAS, the Centralized Application System, applications for the fall 2018 Accelerated Nursing program cohort in Sioux Falls. The deadline is May 1.

Students admitted to the Professional Nursing Major must purchase a laptop computer that meets our computer requirement and complete the Undergraduate Nursing Compliance Requirements.

For any questions you have in regards to the program, email or call our Sioux Falls Academic Advisor. Once all applications are reviewed, eligible applicants will be contacted to schedule an interview. Interviews are typically done in early April. 

NursingCAS Information

In order to apply to SDSU's Accelerated Option, you must use NursingCAS, the nursing profession's online application service. Our accelerated applications for the Sioux Falls site will be available on the new NursingCAS 3.0 applicaton. For any applicants who previously completed a NursingCAS application and plan to again, you will need to create a new account on the NursingCAS 3.0. Any previously submitted applications will be deleted from the NursingCAS system, so you will need to re-initiate the application process. However, once an account is created on the new NursingCAS 3.0 application, your ID number and application information will  be available to you indefinitely.
