Nursing at SDSU is rewarding and fun. We offer a standard Bachelor of Science in Nursing and an accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (for student's who already hold a non-nursing bachelor's degree). Application information for both is below. We also offer an online RN to BSN.
Standard Bachelor of Science in Nursing
The fall 2020 application for admission to professional nursing major for the standard Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.)program (in Brookings and Rapid City) has been extended to June 30, 2020. Applications received after that date may be considered for spring 2021 program start upon request.
Students admitted to the professional nursing major must own or purchase a laptop computer that meets our computer requirements.
Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing
We are currently accepting applications for the accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in Aberdeen and Rapid City. The priority deadline is June 1, however applications will be considered on a rolling basis until August 15th or until the program is filled with qualified applicants. The accelerated B.S.N. program is for students who already hold a non-nursing bachelor's degree but wish to obtain a B.S.N.
Students who apply to the accelerated B.S.N. must:
- Apply to SDSU for general admission to the University,
- Complete the pre-requisite courses listed on page two of the application checklist and verify course equivalences on the transfer equivalency site),
- Complete two written essays (this is done in NursingCAS) and
- Meet the technical standards and eligibility requirements.
