After many discussions and in consultation with Assistant Vice President of International Affairs Dr. Jon Stauff and Provost Dr. Dennis Hedge, SDSU has made the difficult decision to cancel all international travel associated with undergraduate and graduate credit-bearing education abroad programs slated for Fall 2020, Winter 2020 and Spring 2021 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Provost Hedge will make a decision regarding Summer 2021 programs in early January.
While we may not be able to travel abroad until at least Summer 2021, we have some new ways for students to engage with people, places, and organizations for study, internship, and service around the world. Talk to us about our virtual opportunities this year!
Education abroad programs come in many different forms. Short-term programs are one to six weeks up to full semesters or an academic year. Find programs, schedules, financial information, faculty and parent resources and more.
Jacks Start Abroad
Jacks Start Abroad will help incoming freshmen students understand their emerging roles and responsibilities through a common intellectual experience. Jacks Start Abroad offers coursework designed specifically for first-year students. Students have the opportunity to analyze events in Germany or the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland and the resulting effects on the land, people and government and how this experience will impact their own college career and field of study.
