To successfully apply an economic concept to a problem or issue requires a thorough understanding and knowledge of that concept. To provide this knowledge to the people of South Dakota our faculty and staff engage the community through one-on-one interaction, presentations, media contacts and publications. A majority of our agricultural work is shared through SDSU Extension and iGrow.org.
Our Extension Field Specialists are strategically located throughout the state. They bring emerging economic needs to the school’s attention, thus enabling us to respond to critical concerns of South Dakotans. The Field Specialists work with State Specialists and other faculty to share the latest research from our school and the region with clientele. Our Specialists have experience with programming on land economics, farm and ranch management, commodity marketing and agricultural finance.
