Mathematics (B.S.)

Numbers, variables and formulas can take the world almost anywhere.

Data scientist, actuary, statistician, financial/business analyst, social media analyst, mathematics teacher or professor, industrial research and development mathematician– the list of great careers for mathematics majors is long and growing.  The B.S. in Mathematics program provides an outstanding educational experience to students interested in any of these careers, and also provides great preparation for graduate school.  The program features concentration areas aligned with the areas of greatest professional opportunity, those being the Data Science Concentration, the Financial Engineering Concentration, the Mathematics Education Concentration, the Computational Science Concentration, and the Open Concentration. The Statistics Minor can be included in any of these concentration areas, and five year B.S.+M.S. programs can be designed as well.  If you love math and want to use it to make a difference in a great career, SDSU’s B.S. in Mathematics is a great way to go!
