Mathematics (M.S.)
Mathematics can take the world almost anywhere!
The M.S. in mathematics develops mathematical thinking and practical computational power. Students build and analyze deterministic and mathematical models, deploying them on high-performance computing platforms to solve real-world problems.
The curriculum balances theory, application and computation with particular strength in operations research, computational science, dynamics simulation and mathematics of machine learning. Faculty and student research spans computational biology, computational finance and optimization, among other active areas.
Graduates are well-positioned for careers in business, industry or government — or for continued doctoral study in computational science, statistics or related fields.
