Campus Maintenance staff has technical expertise in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, repair work, relocation, and grounds. Services include the operation, maintenance, repair and remodeling of university buildings and grounds and the operation and repair of certain types of equipment. Work is scheduled during normal business hours, however for urgent matters after hours on-call staff will respond.
The maintenance staff serves the campus year around to keep everything operational, while at the same time adjusting their focus to align with the changing needs of the campus community. For example, fall move-in, large campus events, special exhibits, and even the demands of changing seasons with snow removal and lawn maintenance demonstrate their nimbleness and commitment to customer service.
Maintenance staff work closely with outside vendors, contractors, utility companies, campus event coordinators and project managers to ensure timely, coordinated efforts. They try to meet campus customer needs with internal resources first, however if they are unable to meet scope and/or schedule, they will outsource the necessary services.
