College Panhellenic Association

College Panhellenic Association

The College Panhellenic Association (CPH) serves as the unifying and governing body for 4 sororities at South Dakota State University.  The CPH is made up of the council's executive board and delegates from each of the member chapters.  CPH creates and implements policies, programs, and other learning opportunities for its member chapters, and serves as a liaison between the sorority community and various departments and offices at SDSU.  While each chapter has their own values, the council as a whole focuses on recruitment, leadership development, community service, campus involvement, chapter spirit, and academic achievement.  Officers follow the local constitution and bylaws as well as all National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) Policies.  CPH Officers attend meetings with the executive committee, representatives of the Interfraternity Council, and the Program Advisor for Fraternity and Sorority.

College Panhellenic Association Recruitment

The College Panhellenic Association facilitates recruitment in two ways:  Primary Recruitment and Informal Recruitment.  Primary Recruitment is a mutual selection process held each fall that allows potential new members and chapters to find the best organizational fit for future members.  Through this 3 day process, potential new members will begin by visiting each of the 4 participating chapters, and gradually narrowing down the number of chapters each day.  Informal Recruitment is a more casual approach to meeting potential new members, where the chapters set their own schedules and organize their own events.  Not every chapter participates in Informal Recruitment every semester.  Both recruitment processes are values-based, which means women are encouraged to have conversations centered around their personal and chapter values.

Alpha Xi Delta is more than just letters. It’s a place where we celebrate diversity, knowing everyone has something unique to offer. Here at the Xi Theta Chapter of Chi Omega at South Dakota State University, we have the privilege of being part of an incredible sorority community. Our chapter was founded on April 15, 1967 — as we're about to celebrate our 51st year at SDSU! It is incredibly special to be a part of this chapter, calling more than 100 women sisters and being part of the largest women's organization in the world!
