High School Dual Credit

Choose from a wide range of online courses

SDSU offers a wide range of dual-credit-eligible mathematics and statistics online courses during the fall semester, spring semester, and summer. If you're close enough to our Brookings campus or our Sioux Falls and Pierre instructors, you can take these courses face-to-face. For more information about how to take dual credit courses from SDSU, please see High School Concurrent and Dual Credit.

Math placement for high school dual credit students

Students are placed into the appropriate initial SDSU mathematics course based on your High School GPA or as a result of having previously passed a college-level math course.  Alternative methods for placement could include a combination of HS GPA and scores on one of several standardized exams. This Math Placement page summarizes how this information is used to determine initial mathematics course placement.

The Accuplacer test is a standardized test used for courses below the level of calculus. The Accuplacer + SDCalculus is used to place into Calculus. Both tests can be taken at a testing center in South Dakota or if necessary, can be taken remotely.
