Faculty members and students in the Department of Natural Resource Management are affiliated with a wide range of professional societies. Some examples include the American Fisheries Society, American Geophysical Union, American Institute of Biological Sciences, Ecological Society of America, Society for Freshwater Science (formerly North American Benthological Society), Society for Range Management, Society of Wetland Scientists, and The Wildlife Society. Students will find their professional society home by following their personal interests
Service to professional organizations is a part of the job duties for every faculty member at SDSU. As part of our professional service, we host websites for Dakota Chapter: American Fisheries Society and Great Plains Natural Science Society. In addition, several faculty members have been quite active in the South Dakota Academy of Science.
