1. Explore online learning.
TEST YOURSELF
SDSU offers associates, bachelors and masters degrees online, as well as many certificate programs and minor disciplines of study. If you are considering applying for an online program, this survey will help you determine your level of readiness for online learning. The post-survey feedback will provide you with information on what you can expect from an online course and help you understand what you need in order to succeed as a distance student.

ACTIVATE WEBADVISOR
Go to WebAdvisor. Select "What's My User ID" and "Reset My Password." Follow the prompts to obtain your User ID and create your password.

SELECT COURSES
Programs are designed and taught by SD Board of Regents university professors. Courses are specifically adapted for online delivery.
7. Prepare for class.
GET YOUR STUDENT ID
Start preparing for class by confirming your student ID. Your student ID can be found on your SDSU Admission letter, in your welcome email, or by calling Records and Registration at 605-688-6195.

ACTIVATE YOUR EMAIL
Go to MyState and select "Activate Jacks Email." Follow the instructions to activate your account. You will need your student ID for the temporary password.
PURCHASE TEXTBOOKS
Before the semester begins you will want to obtain any required textbooks for your class(es). You can order your books online through the University Bookstore.
8. Pay your bill.
BILLING & PAYMENT
SDePay is the official means of delivering tuition bills to all SDSU students. All enrolled students will have an eBill posted to their SDePay account. Check your statement and make payments through WebAdvisor. Select "Students" and "SDePay/View Account/Pay Here."
9. Access your courses.
LOG IN TO D2L
SDSU utilizes Desire2Learn (D2L) to deliver its online courses. Students enrolled in courses through SDSU have access to a number of video tutorials and guides that provide an overview of the D2L system. Login to D2L using your WebAdvisor user ID and password. Locate Self Registration and select "SDSU Student D2L 101." Take some time to view these tutorials prior to the first day of class. Knowing how to navigate and utilize the tools within D2L will get your online learning experience off to a successful start.
