Student Research Opportunities
Abundant research opportunities are available to both undergraduate and graduate students at South Dakota State University, the state’s premier research institution.
At SDSU, you’ll have study options in attractive fields such as renewable energy, food, health sciences, engineering or nursing. Plus, you’ll have an engaging experience as you collaborate with innovative faculty, who are conducting advanced research in their respective fields.
With the freedom to investigate, you’ll spark your creative side and open up a whole new world.
Undergraduate students will build a network of contacts and perhaps even be published in the Journal of Undergraduate Research, or have your work highlighted at a special forum on student research during the South Dakota Legislative session.
You will also have the chance to showcase your findings to friends, colleagues and of course, mom and dad, at SDSU’s Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creative Activities Day. There, everything from posters to media and audio productions to performing arts are presented to the public.
The Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creative Activities Day celebrates student research with poster presentations, performances and awards. Open to all disciplines, students, faculty, staff and community members are encouraged to attend.
Here, graduate students focus on research through 12 Ph.D. programs, two professional doctorates or 24 master’s-level options. You’ll have the chance to take advantage of invaluable graduate assistantships or fellowships, such as the $1 million Monsanto Graduate Fellowship in Plant Breeding, among others.
The Graduate Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity Day (GRSCAD) features student poster presentations, a keynote speaker, and an awards ceremony. Open to all graduate students, regardless of discipline
