Federal regulations require South Dakota State University to disclose whether its degree programs meet U.S. jurisdictions’ educational requirements for licensure (668.43(a)(5)(v) and 668.43(c)).

South Dakota State University also maintains this information for students and prospective students on its state authorization web pages.

Professional Licensure Disclosure Statement: Graduates of the Education Specialization will qualify for a secondary teaching certificate, and will also be prepared for a variety of careers in the agricultural industry. For additional information, please visit the SD Department of Education.

At this time SDSU cannot confirm this program or its courses meet requirements for professional licensure in states outside of South Dakota. Assistance will be provided to candidates in contacting the licensing authority in the student’s state and understanding the requirements for licensure prior to enrollment in the South Dakota State University program.
