About the Ritz Gallery

The Ritz Gallery programming aims to cultivate and enrich the quality of life of SDSU and the regional community by facilitating a deeper understanding and appreciation of contemporary art and design through public exhibits and events. It empowers experimentation, innovation and excellence in the creation and discussion of art and design. Student and professional creative activities promote active, transformative teaching and learning opportunities through diverse programming and course content.

Ritz Gallery Objectives

  1. Engage the public, University and regional community with work by School of Design students, faculty, alumni and visiting artists and designers.
  2. Provide opportunities for professional development for students to organize and curate exhibits, learn how to prepare, install and de-install artwork and design, and participate in a dialogue of their ideas with peers, faculty and the public.
  3. Engender exposure and engage new audiences with contemporary art and design concepts through a rotating exhibits calendar.
