Identity-Preserved Program (IP)

Identity-preserved (IP) refers to positive identification of a field crop variety from the planting stock seeded through the production and marketing channels in order that the end user of the crop is assured that the specific characteristics desired in the variety are delivered.

SDCIA's identity-preserved program is an extension of the identification and record keeping service which are similar to the type of records kept in its seed certification program. Through IP the identity of a crop is maintained beyond the seed sources and through commercial production in quantities required to meet the end-user's needs.

SDCIA can customize its identity-preserved services to meet specific customer needs.  It can, for example, verify that the variety in a field is the variety specified, inspect fields to determine and report on crop condition, identify and specify the amount of any crop contaminants, estimate yield and other crop related information of interest and or importance to the client.
