LEAD Courses

This partnership between Lake Area Technical College and South Dakota State University aims to meet the educational needs of students and highlight the complementary nature of the programs of both institutions. As defined in the agreement, LATC students who have completed the Associate of Applied Sciences (A.A.S.) in the law enforcement major have a tailored opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in criminology at SDSU.

SDSU will accept 60 technical course credits from the A.A.S. degree in law enforcement. Example pathways are available below.

Additional Requirements:

  1. Students transferring from Lake Area Technical College must have a cumulative GPA of “C” (2.0 on a 4.0 scale).
  2. At least 33 credits for the degree must be upper-division (300 or higher) courses.
