A minor in food safety is a valuable option for students interested in working in any aspect of the food industry.

Coursework in the food safety minor is taught in a variety of formats and incorporates lecture, laboratory and field-based learning experiences.

Students who complete a minor in food safety will have the ability to identify food pathogens, demonstrate an understanding of food safety management and engage in the microbiology and safety of food as it is manufactured and distributed.
