Health Promotion & Wellness

Health Promotion

The Health Promotion area promotes healthy ideas and concepts to SDSU students, staff and community members to encourage them to adopt healthy behaviors. Programming focuses on helping reduce lifestyle risk factors to enhance personal, academic and career success.

Wellness

Wellness is much more than physical health, exercise or nutrition. It is the full integration of states of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Optimal wellness allows us to achieve our goals and find meaning and purpose in our lives. Wellness involves continually learning and making changes to enhance your state of well-being. The model used by the Miller Wellness Center includes seven dimensions: social, physical, spiritual, financial, emotional, environmental and intellectual. By applying the seven dimensions of wellness to your life, you become aware of the interconnectedness of each dimension and how they contribute to optimal health and well-being.
