Today we have another photo from the Leland Sudlow Photograph Collection. This photo is of Tom Barrett a 4-H Horse Show Winner of 1972. There are many different categories in 4-H horse judging. Current categories include Showmanship, Equitation, Performance, Timed Events, Youth in Action and Premier Exhibitors. Many of these categories have different showings within them. When showing the horse, the exhibitor will have to follow a specific pattern around the arena all while having the horse perform a specific walk. Participants sometimes do multiple showings meaning they must know which pattern to perform.
