SDSU Wind Symphony opens season Thursday

The South Dakota State University Wind Symphony opens its 2023-2024 season this week with a performance that celebrates music from both the 1920s and 2020s. The concert, "ROARING: A Celebration of the ’20s," will take place in Larson Memorial Concert Hall at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19.

Brown to present senior recital

Landon Brown, a senior majoring in music education, will present his senior recital at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center’s Founders Recital Hall on the South Dakota State University campus.

Mason to present junior recital

Brennan Mason, a music education major at South Dakota State University, will present his junior recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center’s Founders Recital Hall on the SDSU campus.

Backman featured in next Brookings Chamber Music Society concert

Minneapolis-based organist Samuel Backman will be featured on the Founders Recital Hall organ at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center for the second concert in the Brookings Chamber Music Society series.
