DeGraff to present faculty recital

Anna DeGraff, an instructor of applied voice and music appreciation at South Dakota State University, will present a faculty recital at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28, in Founders Recital Hall at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center. 

The mezzo-soprano’s program is titled “9.” A strong proponent of contemporary music, DeGraff will perform vocal music by 20th and 21st century North American composers including Margaret Bonds, Lori Laitman, Maria Grever and more. 

The recital will also feature the world premiere of two movements of a new work by Lisa Neher titled “Goddess Cycle.” 

DeGraff will be joined by professors Mark Stevens on piano and Michael Walsh on clarinet.
