This South Dakota State University agricultural engineer experimented with interseeding in Union County.  Interseeding is a practice used on pastures or idle fields that yields a mixture of grasses and legumes that benefit livestock and wildlife. Interseeding is a method of weed control and minimizes time establishing a cover crop. It also reduces the runoff from storm water runoff and the cover crop captures nitrogen in the soil.
