My Heart Beets for You! (02/14/24)

WNW valentines edition
The card reads "You're the TOPS in Valentines! You simply can't be BEET!" Featuring the drawing of two beets.

Happy Valentine’s Day! Often little puns appear on sweet valentines notes and today’s What’s new Wednesday is no exception. This beet “flavored” valentine could have “stemmed” from any farmer’s love letters. It reads: “You’re the TOPS in Valentines! You Simply Can’t Be Beet!” and highlights a girl beet and a boy beet positioned around a heart.

Where the tradition of Valentine’s Day originated is up for debate. One common tale suggests that the holiday evolved from the Roman holiday Lupercalia. This celebrated the coming of spring, and by lottery, pairing off young couples. Another story has St. Valentine marrying couples secretly to keep husbands from going to war, against the Roman Emperor’s order. There are many others as well. Regardless of where it came from, Valentine’s Day celebrates love and appreciation. We appreciate your interest and support, “You simply can’t be ‘beet!'”
