It is possible that this tree was set up in a school or church or some other place where the community gathered for celebrations. The Christmas tree is decorated with gifts of all kinds of gifts. Each gift has an attached tag. Around the bottom of the tree are children’s books, a windmill, a fork, knife and spoon set, toy train and wrapped packages. Among the gifts on the tree are baby shoes, scarves or shawls, a hair comb, 3 small stuffed bears, a photographic portrait, a pair of scissors, 3 bugles and a child’s knit sweater. On the walls are hand painted pictures, linens with a butterfly edging and a calendar. Unfortunately, the calendar is too small to see a date.
