Joan Parker of Arlington, coordinated the South Dakota State University Apron Fashion show. According to the fashion show script, “This unique apron is definitely homemade, or more aptly described, handmade. The label so neatly sewn in this band says: ‘Hand Woven by Mrs. Selma Lock’. She wove the fabric and made the apron. Its multi-colored pastel stripes are lovely, and the heaviness of the fabric would make it useful to just grab a corner of the apron and use it to lift a hot pan when potholders are out of sight.” It was the 44th apron in the show.
