Mary Anne Krogh, Roberta K. Olson Endowed Dean of the College of Nursing

Greetings SDSU College of Nursing alumni and friends,

As we welcome the blooming of spring (and the melting of snow), it brings me great joy to reflect on the remarkable achievements and growth within the SDSU College of Nursing. The past months have been filled with milestones and successes that truly underscore our commitment to excellence in education, research and practice.

One area that fills me with pride is the remarkable expansion we have experienced in the areas of palliative care, rural health and simulation research. These vital areas not only represent the forefront of nursing innovation but also reflect our dedication to addressing critical health care needs in diverse communities. Through pioneering research initiatives and collaborative efforts, our faculty and students continue to make significant strides in advancing knowledge and practice in these pivotal domains.

Equally deserving of recognition are our outstanding students who continuously exemplify the highest standards of academic excellence and compassionate care. Their dedication, passion and commitment to the nursing profession and their communities inspire us all and serve as a testament to the exceptional quality of education provided by our faculty and staff. Their recognition by the Board of Regents for their considerable service is but one example of their excellence. Truly our students are our greatest ambassadors!

I am thrilled that our local Phi chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International has earned the national Key Award in recognition of its commitment to research and service to the profession of nursing.

I am pleased that we are able to showcase the expertise and generosity of Dean Emerita Roberta Olson in this publication. Her unfailing support to the College of Nursing and SDSU is beyond measure, and I am grateful for her every day.

All of these achievements highlight the spirit of excellence and innovation within the College of Nursing and make a meaningful difference to the communities we serve.

As I travel around the country meeting with alumni and friends, I am always struck by the exceptional careers of our graduates and the impacts made toward a healthier future. Thank you all for your unwavering support of the college. Here’s to a future filled with continued growth, success and impact.
