South Dakota State University has been recognized as one of the top colleges in South Dakota for 2024, especially when it comes to online degree programs, according to Intelligent.com. The website ranked SDSU No. 2 among the 15 best colleges in South Dakota and No. 3 among the 10 best online colleges in South Dakota.

Near record first-year class, retention drives SDSU enrollment up
A near-record class of first-time students and record retention from students’ freshmen to sophomore year increased South Dakota State University’s enrollment to its highest number in five years. Figures released by the South Dakota Board of Regents today shows total enrollment for fall 2023 at South Dakota’s largest and most comprehensive university at 11,505—the largest enrollment since 2019, when 11,518 students attended SDSU.

Retired SDSU employees provide funding for 50th, 51st endowed leadership positions
Two couples with more than a century of combined service to South Dakota State University have made financial commitments to push the university’s Bold & Blue comprehensive campaign past an important milestone. University and campaign officials established a goal to have commitments for 50 endowed positions by the end of Bold & Blue. At the campaign’s start in 2017, there were 13. That number has now grown to 51.
