Event Details

First up in The Art of the Story series, our new storytelling event for kids: My Hero! Superhero Stories.

Kids of all ages will explore stories told through artworks in our superhero themed exhibit: My Hero! Contemporary Art and Superhero Action. This exhibition, organized by Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek, California, presents a sprawling collection of international artworks in a variety of media that celebrates and re-envisions the lives of iconic superheroes.

During this one-hour session, we'll guide participants through a process of discovery using visual thinking strategies, showing kids they can uncover fascinating stories and details in pieces of art. Then we'll share a fun story-time featuring superhero stories from books and comics provided by Brookings Books and Comics.

Superhero capes and costumes welcome! Photo opportunities with Superman, Batman, Captain America, Wonder Woman and more!

This is a free event and as always, admission to the museum is free.
