Sarah Sellars is an Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist in Sustainable Farm and Food Systems. Her scholarly work focuses on the profitability and policy implications of cover crops and nutrient management for Midwestern farmers. Her SDSU Extension programming focuses on providing relevant information about input prices, conservation adoption, and agricultural policy to help inform South Dakota farmers, ranchers, and agricultural stakeholders. Her research and Extension interests include sustainable agriculture, farm management, agricultural policy, and precision agriculture. Her interest in agricultural economics began while growing up on a family grain and livestock farm outside of Winchester, IL.
