Apply for graduation and complete surveys

Don’t forget this critical step to claiming your degree with SDSU!

Complete the graduation application.

Visit MyState, click Dashboard, locate Graduation Application Information and select Apply to Graduate. Be sure to complete your graduation application by the date identified for the semester you plan to graduate, these dates can be found at Graduation.

Take important surveys.

Your experience at SDSU is unique and we want to hear your feedback. Three key surveys you’ll be asked to complete during your senior year are:

  1. National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) - The National Survey of Student Engagement is a standardized survey tool used to assess the extent to which students engage in educational practices associated with high levels of learning and development. At SDSU, NSSE is administered every other spring (2020; 2022) to first-year and senior students.
  2. Senior Exit Survey - The senior exit survey is administered each semester to graduating seniors who complete the graduation application. The survey instrument consists of 50 questions in closed-ended response format. The survey items focus on:
    • Overall experiences
    • General education goals
    • High-Impact Practices (HIPs)
    • Graduate school aspirations
    • Student services
  3. First Destination Survey - In the weeks leading up to graduation, you will receive an email including a link to the SDSU First Destination Survey. This survey provides insight into the various career paths SDSU students take upon graduation. Survey data are used to measure the effectiveness of programs, identify employment opportunities of SDSU graduates and improve academic programs. Survey results also help identify career expectations and opportunities for prospective and current undergraduate students.
