This is a Sad Iron that was used for multiple purposes in the early 1860s

Sad iron stoves were a handy little appliance. It was used for heating sad irons, boiling water, provide light and as space heaters. They were even used as camp stoves. Popular from the 1860s through the early 20th century, these kerosene fuels stoves had 2-3 wicks and the front door had mica windows. Foundries across the U.S. manufactured these small stoves.
