South Dakota State University has been awarded a three-year, $750,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Education with the support of Sen. Mike Rounds.

South Dakota State University President Barry Dunn has bestowed Presidential Medallions upon three SDSU supporters — Mark Luecke, Jeff Lautt and Brenda Forman — whose work has positively impacted the university, agriculture and economic development in the state. 

For Scout Forbes-Hurd, pharmacy has always been about people. That philosophy has guided her journey from Mobridge to South Dakota State University’s College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions, where she serves as an assistant professor and experiential education, continuing pharmacy education and advanced pharmacy practice experience coordinator. Along the way, relationships, mentorship and service have shaped every step of her career.

The National Institutes of Health awarded $11,090,204 over five years to establish the South Dakota Center for Advancing Clinical and Translational Research (SD-ACT), a statewide partnership among Avera Research Institute, South Dakota State University and the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine.

South Dakota State University has named three finalists for the position of vice president for research and economic development. Each finalist will participate in two days of interviews that will include meetings with SDSU leadership, faculty, staff and other key stakeholders. An open forum will be held for each candidate on campus and via Zoom for those who cannot attend in person.
