Welcome to the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences at South Dakota State University! One of eight colleges that make up SDSU, our college has an integral role in fulfilling the land grant mission of the university. In addition to six academic departments, the college is home to both SDSU Extension and the South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station. The SDSU West River Research and Extension is a satellite of the college, and serves as center for teaching, research, extension and outreach activities in the western part of the state. The college is the largest at SDSU in terms of student enrollment, faculty and staff and building space.

Education abroad opportunity takes SDSU students to Vietnam

Twenty-four students from South Dakota State University’s College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences traveled to Vietnam in May through an agriculture-focused education abroad program.

Anne Fennell, a distinguished professor in South Dakota State University's Department of Agronomy, Horticulture and Plant Science, has been named one of 25 inspiring women in the field of plant biology by the American Society of Plant Biologists.

College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences announces summer field days

The South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station hosts research station tours for the public every summer. Each station, part of South Dakota State University and supporting programs in several colleges and SDSU Extension, will be the site of field days with guided tours and presentations showcasing research being conducted there. These tours are led by SDSU research and Extension staff.
