Museum Information


The museum is dedicated to preserving our rich agricultural history and rural heritage. Our collections and exhibits depict technology, crops, and livestock. In addition the exhibits examine human experiences, institutions, and cultures that were shaped by the state's rural landscape and diverse environment. 

Located on the campus of South Dakota State University at the corner of Medary Avenue and 11th Street the museum is open and free to the public 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday thru Saturday, Thursdays until 8 p.m. & 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The museum is closed Sundays: January - March (winter hours) and all state holidays.
