Throughout the year the museum offers numerous innovative programs, events, partnerships and educational and engagement initiatives that enhance the Museum’s educational impact in the community. Education Programs
If you have an educational event you wish to host at the museum please contact the museum by email or 605-688-6226.
Some examples of past educational programs offered at the museum:
- Make and take Monday – summer Monday craft series
- Soap felting
- Cooking with lamb
- Knitting, crocheting and other fiber works classes.
- Learning to dye with ice and plants

- World cup: international hot beverage tasting- an event in connection with Brooking’s Frost Fest.
- “The Craft and History of Nailbinding” with speaker Amy Vander Vorste
- “Bone Dry South Dakota: The Failure of Prohibition in a Rural State,” speaker SDSU Professor Dr. Chuck Vollan – his program was part of a series of programming related to our exhibit, "Barley to Barrel: The Science and History of Brewing in South Dakota."
- Homebrewing 101 – this program was part of a series of programming related to our exhibit, "Barley to Barrel: The Science and History of Brewing in South Dakota."
- Cooking With Beer – this program was part of a series of programming related to our exhibit, "Barley to Barrel: The Science and History of Brewing in South Dakota."
