Developing future health and business professionals and community leaders

With nationally recognized faculty as experts in their field, our team is dedicated to student success by providing a strong foundation of knowledge, skills and abilities for employment in the health care field, industry and education graduate; as well as, entrance into graduate and professional schools. Our practice of integrating academic programs, which focus on nutrition, health, leadership, financial planning, consumer affairs, recreation, management, merchandising, exercise and human performance and aviation provides students and faculty with unique opportunities to collaborate and to promote interaction among students in different majors with a common focus on promoting excellence in their respective major.

The School of Health and Consumer Sciences is dedicated to improving the quality of life regionally, nationally and globally by fostering lifelong learners, conducting innovative research and teaching and delivering effective education and outreach.

What factors influence international student-athletes in their college choice?

A new study from South Dakota State University's College of Education and Human Sciences analyzed what factors influenced Division I international student-athletes in their college choice.

SDSU students make a difference for nonprofits

National Day of Giving can be the nonprofit equivalent of retailers' Black Friday. However, many smaller agencies don’t have the manpower to engage in a robust social media campaign. For five area nonprofits, that need was addressed by students in the Fundraising and Resource Development course at South Dakota State University.
