What Motivates You?

End Goal(s)

What made you decide to attend college?

Sit down and write out your short and long-term goals. Put this somewhere that you look often for a reminder of why you are doing what you are doing!

An Organized Space

Designate a space for studying and completing assignments. Keep the space clean and clear from distractions.

If you are unable to find a quite space, check out the library!

Deadlines

Print your syllabus for every course and stay organized. Develop a planning system that works for you.

If you just have a list of things to study, break it down into tasks and plan to do the hardest ones when you have the most energy.

Support

We want you to succeed.

A list of just some of the people at SDSU ready to assist you:

  • your advisor and professors,
  • tutors/SI leaders,
  • counselors,
  • instructors and graduate students in the Writing Center.

Don't be afraid to change up your study space or try a new study method!

Rewarding Yourself

For example, try rewarding yourself with a treat after finishing an assignment, a coffee before/after a test, or a pair of shoes you've been eyeing after performing well on finals.
