New Student Orientation Schedule
First Time Student Schedule
Day of Schedule (subject to change)
- Prior to first session
- Check in, light breakfast provided, interaction with orientation staff on University Student Union Main Street
- 8:45 a.m.: Welcome event
- Get excited for your day and learn to navigate New Student Orientation!
- 9:15 a.m.: Jackrabbits basics
- Quick information on housing, dining and Miller Wellness Center
- 10 a.m. Introduction to advising
- Prepare for advising and registration
- 11 a.m.: Lunch and rotating orientation sessions
- Grab lunch and dive deeper with resources of your choosing such as Fishback Honors College, ROTC, Veterans Affairs and performing arts.
- 11 a.m.-4 p.m.: Placement Testing as needed
- 12:15-3:30 p.m.
- Advising and registration: Spend time building your course schedule for fall and spring with the help of academic advisors and faculty.
- Information session rotations: Learn about additional support structures and other resources, including academic supports, financial information, career development and student engagement.
- Family/parent/guest sessions: Take a deeper dive on ways SDSU supports your student, as well as discussion on other transition topics.
- 3-4:30 p.m.: Campus Resource Fair
