Summer Scholars Program

The Fishback Summer Scholars Program will immerse talented, motivated high school students in a week of ‘college life’ at South Dakota State University. Participants will explore an array of interesting academic and research experiences, along with enrichment and social programs designed to help them prepare for the next step in their intellectual, personal and professional development.

The 2020 Summer Scholars Program will take place July 13-17 on the SDSU campus.

In light of the unfolding coronavirus pandemic, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Fishback Summer Scholars Program. The safety of our staff and participants is our top priority. We hope this decision will bring clarity to our participants as everyone prepares for the months ahead. SDSU will relaunch the Fishback Summer Scholars Program for 2021 and hope that those of you who are finishing up your sophomore year will join us for the Summer Scholars Program next summer. One of our missions at South Dakota State University is to be people-centered and we strive to foster strong, positive relationships. If you are interested in being paired with a current jackrabbit to help navigate your preparations for attending SDSU, we would love the opportunity to introduce you to one of our student mentors.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our Coordinator of Fishback Summer Scholars, Jessica Mellon.
