The accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.), which we also offer at our Rapid City site and our Sioux Falls site, is for students who have completed a bachelor's degree in any field and wish to obtain a B.S.N. degree. The program takes 12 months to complete and starts once a year (January) at Northern State University in Aberdeen. Students take coursework and participate in lecture, on-campus labs, and clinical rotations in Aberdeen and surrounding communities.
Before applying to the accelerated B.S.N. program, students must:
- apply to SDSU for general admission to the University;
- complete the pre-requisite courses listed on page two of the application checklist and verify course equivalences on the transfer equivalency site);
- complete two written essays (this is done in Kira Talent);
- meet the technical standards and eligibility requirements.
The application to the accelerated B.S.N. program in Aberdeen is available on NursingCAS March 1 each year.
