About The Oscar
The Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center is a state-of-the-art performing arts center that is the home for concerts, theatrical and dance performances, special events and SDSU’s School of Performing Arts.
The naming of The Oscar recognizes the vision and exceptional, unwavering generosity of the Pat and Dale Larson Family and the Larson Foundation. The Oscar is a comprehensive facility providing spaces for both the instruction and performance in dance, music and theatre. Developed by Design Architect Malcom Holzman, and acoustically engineered by David Kahn, the center proves that what an individual hears and sees during performances do correlate and that great art is made in great settings.
The Oscar’s mission is to engage its community through artistic, educational and cultural experiences that enrich lives, promote lifelong learning in and through the performing arts, and serve as a gateway between SDSU and the greater community.
The Oscar is committed to providing world-class experiences through concerts, theatrical productions, dance performances, lectures, recordings and special events for the SDSU campus, community and region while supporting the development of programs and groups dedicated to educating, entertaining and serving performing arts patrons.
