Reimagined, Redesigned and Rebooted
The Teaching, Learning and Leadership Department at South Dakota State University is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for practicing teachers.
This summer we are launching a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction online cohort. As South Dakota’s only Land Grant institution we are committed to the education and development of all South Dakotans regardless of geographic location. This is why we developed an advanced degree program for teachers that is delivered entirely online, while still focusing on personal connections and community development. As a cohort you will begin, work through and graduate with many of the same students in each class.
Working alongside a cohort of peers will allow you to build meaningful professional connections with classmates. Over the course of the curriculum, you will grow together, challenge each other and support one another. If you follow the recommended sequence, you will know your complete schedule and graduation date before you start your first class.
This program has been explicitly designed to support the professional development of practicing teachers. The major focus of the coursework will support the day-to-day work of K-12 teachers. Instructors will unpack valuable theories and the latest educational research then connect them to boots on the ground teaching practices.
Listed below is the recommended sequence of coursework for the cohort as well as options for full-time and one course/semester options.
