Programs

We offer undergraduate coursework leading to certification in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, and Secondary Teacher Education, as well as graduate programs in Educational Administration and Curriculum and Instruction. Internships

Most of the programs in Teaching, Learning and Leadership require some sort of internship or student teaching experience. The undergraduate teacher education programs in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, and Secondary Education have multiple field experiences including a year of residency. Graduate programs include some form of internship. These internships are part of the expected coursework in these programs

Position Announcements

Every year there are jobs available in South Dakota at all levels and in all areas. For those seeking jobs in K-12 schools, see the Teacher Placement Service, a resource maintained by the Associated School Boards. At the middle school and secondary level, areas in which there are presently shortages include mathematics, science, foreign languages, bilingual education, art, language arts, music and special education.

Scholarships

We're fortunate and thankful to those who have provided scholarship funds for our students. Returning undergraduate and graduate students can access the scholarship application through MyState.
