The Students' Association Senate will be meeting on Monday, February 17 at 7 p.m. in the Crest Room of the University Student Union. Please note the change in location from the Senate's usual meeting room.
It had been previously announced that the Senate would not meet due to the President's Day holiday, but a special meeting has been called by the SA President pursuant to Article IV, Section 3, subsection A of the Students' Association Bylaws.
The primary reason for the meeting is to take action on legislation concerning bills in the South Dakota legislature related to higher education. With crossover day in the legislature approaching, it is possible these bills will be scheduled for committee hearings this week.
The agenda for Monday night's Senate meeting can be found here. It is likely that additional legislation related to other bills concerning higher education will be introduced soon the Senate floor on Monday for a first reading. We recommend following along with The Collegian on Twitter for up-to-the-minute meeting coverage.
Please contact the Students' Association with any questions.
