Abstract

The Native American Club stimulates interest in higher education among all Native Americans. The collection is composed of programs, flyers, and posters for events sponsored or co-sponsored by the club. Also included are powwow viewers guides and information on the club.

Historical Note

The Native American Club serves many purposes for its members. First, the club offers support and encouragement to its members. The club also provides awareness of self and a social outlet for Native Americans students attending South Dakota State University. The club participates in intramural sports and holds club picnics. The main goal of the club is to promote cross-cultural understanding and awareness among the student body, administration, faculty, and residents of Brookings. The club is open to anyone interested in learning about and sharing the heritage of Native Americans.

This collection is open to researchers without restrictions. The materials in the Archives do not circulate and may be used in-house only.
