Abstract
The Registrar's Office maintains official records on enrollment, biographical student data, grades, credits, and degrees conferred. The collection is composed of a course schedules, short course announcements, correspondence, meeting minutes, procedures for registration of classes and enrollment summaries, statistics, and reports.
Historical Note
The Records and Registration office maintains official records on enrollment, biographical student data, grades, credits, and degrees conferred. This office administers registration and assesses tuition and fees and prepares and sends transcripts when written, signed requests are received from students. They process enrollment verifications and check for athletic eligibility. It is their responsibility to prepare semester schedules, assign classrooms; supply reports and analysis of enrollment, grades and other scholastic matters. The Registrar coordinates with college deans the procedure for clearing candidates for graduation and submitting candidate lists; and assists with the graduation ceremonies.
Contents Note
This series is composed of a variety of material generated by the Office of Records and Registration. The bulk of the material consists of registration schedules for courses available at South Dakota State University. Included are announcements of short courses that cover a range of subjects, from agriculture to piano tuning. Also included are directories of students and faculty, programs from baccalaureate services, and information for fall registration, meeting minutes from various committees, correspondence, newspaper clippings, registration procedures, guidelines for selection of students for senior college, scheme of study forms for students, summer session registration changes in procedure, and a list of course number changes.
The enrollment records are composed of enrollment summaries and statistics, report requests for enrollment data conducted by the Registrar's office, numerous enrollment figures and reports, and Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) reports.
The Enrollment by Fiscal Year records consist of enrollment summaries and statistics including gains and losses, report requests for enrollment data conducted by the Registrar's office and Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) reports. Also included are reports to the U.S. Bureau of Education, graduation and baccalaureate programs, and a summaries and statistics compiled by the Registrar's office. This material is arranged chronologically by fiscal year (July-June), however, the material consists of requests that were made during that particular year and may include data for that year as well as data for years past. In order to conduct a thorough search, it is recommended that all of the files be consulted.
The Cumulative Enrollment records are composed of biennial reports on enrollment created by the Registrar's office, cumulative enrollment statistics, and counts of degrees granted at SDSU. Folders are arranged in alphabetical order.
