It’s a beautiful day on the SDSU campus. Our theater faculty and staff are delighted to invite you and your students to attend our FREE annual Theatre Workshop on Saturday, October 16. This is a terrific opportunity to see our new proscenium theatre and facilities. We could not be happier to launch our first full season in the new space.
The workshop will be in conjunction with State University Theatre’s musical production of Carrie: the Musical. Workshop attendees (students and teachers) will have the opportunity to attend the show on that evening free of charge. (I should note the show includes some “mature” language and themes, but nothing too excessive for an adaptation of Steven King’s Carrie).
- We will hold a series of specific workshops in performance and theatre technology from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at SDSU’s Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center. Of course, we will also be providing tours of our facility.
- Tickets to the 7:30 p.m. performance of Carrie: the Musical will also be provided for all participants. The show will be performed in our beautiful Oscar Larson Theatre.
Please feel free to make any recommendations of what sorts of workshops might most benefit your students when you return your registration. If you intend to join us, we ask that you fill out this form by Friday, October 8.
This will allow us to set aside the appropriate number of seats for that evening’s performance. Once we have our registrants, we will send additional information on the specific workshops we will have ready for your students.
We also realize that many schools have activities that may conflict with the date of this event. If that is the case for you and your students, we hope you find another opportunity to join us for a production. Please be aware that we welcome students to participate in this event regardless of whether their teachers are able to accompany them.
We look forward to working with you and your students, whether at our workshop event or in the future.
