WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

Instructors: Molly Wicks and Mark Stemwedel, faculty from the Studio Art program.

This workshop will provide students the opportunity to explore several different painting approaches with acrylic painting, including making stencils, transferring, and using acrylic mediums. Instructors will share various methods to create textures, patterns, and marks while demonstrating basic color theory concepts. Students’ initial studies will be transformed through cutting and pasting into a collage-style portrait. This project is a great example of discovery through play, bringing different elements together into a final concept.

Students will take their completed project with them at the conclusion of the workshop.
