TIMELY WARNING – SEXUAL ASSAULT
South Dakota State University issues crime alerts in accordance with the federal Jeanne Clery Act, which requires colleges and universities across the United States to disclose information about reported crime on and around campus. INCIDENT: Sexual Assault
LOCATION: Jackrabbit Village
DETAILS: On 10/14/2018 a resident of Jackrabbit Village was sexually assaulted by an individual that is described as a white male 18-20 years of age, approximately 5’6” to 5’9” in height with an average build. The individual was allowed inside the residence hall but is not believed to be an SDSU student. He was last seen wearing a yellow University of Iowa sweatshirt and a grey baseball cap. The University Police Department is seeking information about the individual and his whereabouts as they believe there is potential for on going threat.

POLICE RESPONSE: The University Police Department is investigating the incident and pursing all leads.
REPORTING AN ASSAULT: University Police Department urges anyone who believes they have been the victim of a crime, or has witnessed a crime, to contact local law enforcement. Sexual assault is a violation of the law and our community standards. As a community, we stand ready to support all victims.
