Doctors of veterinary medicine (DVMs) serve vital roles in maintaining animal and public health. The new Professional Program in Veterinary Medicine at South Dakota State University, offered in collaboration with the University of Minnesota, is preparing the next generation of veterinarians who are ready to make an impact in the world.

Unique hands-on opportunities

Students will have many opportunities for hands-on learning at our Swine Education and Research Facility, Cow-Calf Education and Research Facility, Sheep Research and Teaching Unit, Ruminant Nutrition Unit, and Equine Teaching Facility. The new, South Dakota Animal Disease Research and Diagnostic Laboratory provides our students with a state-of-the-art learning environment.
